The Talbot Hotel is a premiere venue
for local artists. Top name acts perform regularly at the
Talbot in association with Cambria Arts.
Since 2000, the Talbot's function room has been permanent home to LIVE AT THE TALBOT, the renowned all-year-round programme of live 'roots' music gigs promoted by local voluntary arts body and registered charity CELF CAMBRIA ARTS. Held approximately twice-monthly, the shows feature the very best of touring musicians from around the world, ranging from solo artists to folk, jazz, blues, rock, and world music.
Many internationally famous musicians have graced the Talbot's stage, including Albert Lee, Gary US Bonds, Gordon Haskell, Chip Taylor, Joseph Arthur, Los Pacaminos (featuring Paul Young), The Strawbs, Chris Jagger, Meic Stevens, Nizlopi, The Holmes Brothers, Hank Wangford, and King Pleasure & The Biscuit Boys. In 2004, Red Kite Records (www.redkiterecords.co.uk) released Live! At The Talbot, an exclusive CD featuring the very best of the 2003-2004 Talbot season, and produced by Grammy Award-winning producer Martin Levan. We are proud to be associated with the LIVE AT THE TALBOT programme - the thousands who attend annually and the artists themselves are united in the view that the Talbot is 'The Best Roots Venue in Wales'.
