Welcome to the the Talbot Hotel in
Tregaron in the heart of Mid Wales. The Talbot is 3
Star old drovers’ inn dating back to the 13th century
and its oak beams, stone walls and open fires are strong reminders
of long ago. Unusually in this day and age it has
always been privately owned and since 1983 Welsh
speaking brother and sister Graham Williams and Shan Rees
have been the proprietors.
. It has 2 bars, 15 bedrooms, a 50 cover restaurant and a function room seating 140. Well known for it's hospitality and excellent cuisine any type of function can be catered for. To the rear of the hotel is a large beer garden and the function room opens out onto a landscaped patio area - ideal for those important wedding photographs!
The Talbot is situated on the square in Tregaron, Ceredigion – a small market town as famous for its warm Welsh welcome as it is for being the birthplace of Twm Sion Cati (the Welsh Robin Hood) and Henry Richard (one of the founding members of the United Nations). Just 18 miles from the coast, it is an ideal location for enjoying the beauty of the area, be it Cors Caron, Cardigan Bay or the Cambrian Mountains. Outdoor pursuits are the most popular attractions with birdwatching, walking, fishing, shooting, horseriding and cycling well catered for. All these activities can be arranged as well as stabling for horses.

Due to its location, The Talbot Hotel plays an important part in the community. Highlights of the year include Ffair Garon (a traditional fair held on Whit Monday), the 3 day August horse trotting extravaganza (August Bank Holiday) and Diwrnod y Porthmyn (a fundraising event held the beginning of November). It is also well known for its live entertainment (organised by local society Wild West Wales) with artists such as Paul Young, Albert Lee, Chris Jagger and the Welsh Meic Stevens, Heather Jones and Elin Fflur (to name but a few) having performed here on more than one occasion.
We look forward to giving you a warm Croeso should you visit the
area.
