The Talbot is an ideal base for exploring the local area. In Tregaron itself are Rhiannon’s Gold Centre, Cambrian Art Gallery, Red Kite Centre and Cors Caron and Britain’s largest rising peat bog.
Five minutes up the road is Pentre Bach, where the childrens
programme featuring Sali Mali and Jac y Jwc is filmed (and
incidentally where both Graham an
d Shan were brought up!).
Further afield are Mid Wales Activity Centre, Strata Florida Abbey,
Devil’s Bridge Falls and the historic towns of Aberystwyth to
the north and Lampeter and Carmarthen to the south.
Outdoor pursuits are very popular in the area. Fishing, walking (both guided and rambling), photography breaks and shooting can be arranged through the hotel.
